We have had glitches in the past, and some posts lost their downloads. The New King James Version is different from most other modern Bible versions in that its New Testament is based on the Received Text rather than the modern critical texts. The Received Text is of the Byzantine text-type, whereas most modern versions use an Alexandrian text-type such as Nestle-Aland 27th or UBS 4th. The Received Text is very, very close to the Byzantine Majority Text, and the New King James Version is translated using the “formal equivalency” method, which produces a readable text that reflects as much as possible every word in the original Greek. In 1883 he was accused of heresy for a series of sermons later published in a book, The Right and Wrong Uses of the Bible. He was again accused in 1884 and 1891 but the bishop Henry Codman Potter, refused to go forward.
Mr. George Cutting is well known, even in evangelical circles, as the author of ‘Safety, Certainty and Enjoyment’ but, sadly, little personal information is available. He was born in 1843 and taken by his Lord in 1934 while living in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. In addition to many booklets and gospel tracts, he co-authored hymn 234 in the 1973 hymn book.

When Mr. Adams was in London, in August, 1868, Charles Haddon Spurgeon informed him that he had used “Baptists Thorough Reformers” as a text book in his Pastor’s College, regarding it as the best Manual of Baptist principles he had met.
