10/28/2024 If you come across a post that doesn't have a download link, please post a note to me in the comments of that post (no download), and I will try to get the file uploaded and linked to that post. We have had glitches in the past, and some posts lost their downloads. Basically, I am taking down all posts (650 posts on the site), and checking each one to see if they have their download, and if not adding it. Most do not. Once I take it down, it will repost (1 per day) until I am caught up and can work on new posts. Note that MySword reads theWord modules and esword modules now, so use them if you have them. A carpenter making his own tools is an explanation of why I, Pastor-Missionary David Cox, write my own material. I like the idea of producing the material that we use in our ministry and also for evangelism.

This book is not a commentary on the Book of Jeremiah, but an outline of his personality, life, and service. Characterized by faithfulness and obedience in a time of weakness and confusion, Jeremiah spoke the final words of Jehovah in Jerusalem, where He had placed “the remembrance of His name”, before this city was destroyed. Soon afterward began “the times of the Gentiles,” a period which continues to the present and will last until Israel finally acknowledges its Messiah.

Jeremiah was a weak and timid man, but God’s power worked in him. As one has said, “What matters is not knowing the ambassador, but knowing the Power that sends him. Those who despise him despise not the man, but the One who sends him” (W. Kelly). The tragedy of this prophet lay in his constant obligation to forewarn of judgment while his whole inner self recoiled from such a prospect.

How different our part! To us is given the opportunity to present the gospel of grace and salvation through our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

pc06 Suicide or something worse? We look at the causes of depression leading into suicide, and help from God and the Bible.
Excerpts: In Mark 5.2-5 there is a demon possessed person who day and night “cut himself with rocks.” In Matthew 17:15 we also see another demon working which seeks to force the person to commit suicide. The desire to harm yourself is a force of darkness, not from God. But the solution then is only found in God, in His love for you, and in His salvation. We should cast our cares upon Him, “for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7). By building a strong relationship with God we can get out of our problems. God will also give us strength and endurance through our problems. The only place of true happiness and joy is when one is in the will of God.
